Deuce is a mobile app for booking tennis courts and finding other players in Egypt.

If you allow it, the app reads your device’s GPS position to sort venues by how far away they are.

Your position is used on your device and is not sent to us. It is not written to your profile and we do not keep a history of where you have been. If you refuse location access, or turn it off later, the app keeps working — venues are simply not sorted by distance.

Other signed-in users can see exactly four things about you:

• your name
• your profile photo
• your skill level
• the area or city you typed into your profile

That is the whole list. Other users cannot see your email address, your age, your gender, your GPS position, your bookings, your points balance, or anything you have reported or blocked. Your bookings are visible only to you and to the venue you booked.

Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020) requires us to have a reason for each thing we do with your data, and to limit ourselves to that reason.

We process your data to perform the contract you entered into when you created an account and made a booking — running your account, taking and confirming bookings, notifying you inside the app, showing your profile to other players, taking a deposit through a payment provider, and running loyalty points.

We process reports and blocks under our legitimate interest in keeping users safe, and we keep anonymised booking records under our legitimate interest, and the venue’s, in retaining an accurate record of what was booked and paid (see §8).

Purpose limitation. We use your data for those purposes and no others. We do not sell your personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to profile you.

تحديد الغرض: نستخدم بياناتك للأغراض المذكورة دون سواها. لا نبيع بياناتك الشخصية، ولا نشاركها لأغراض إعلانية، ولا نستخدمها لتصنيفك.

When you pay a deposit, the app opens Paymob’s own hosted checkout page inside a web view. You enter your card details on Paymob’s page, not ours. Your card number never passes through Deuce and we never see or store it. We are told only whether the payment succeeded.

Deuce uses two Google Firebase services. Both send data to Google, and both mean data leaving Egypt (§7).

Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications. If you allow notifications, your device is issued a device token by Google and we store it against your account so we know where to send your booking and message alerts. The token identifies a device, not you personally, and it changes when you reinstall the app. Deleting your account deletes it; signing out detaches it from you.

The text of a notification is composed on our servers and passed to Google for delivery, because a phone cannot render it while the app is closed. So a notification's contents — a venue's name and your booking time, for example — pass through Google's delivery system. We keep them to the minimum needed for the message to make sense.

Firebase Analytics — how the app is used. We measure the booking journey: app opened, search run, venue viewed, slot chosen, checkout started, payment attempted and its result, booking confirmed, booking cancelled. We record the venue and court involved, the price, how many slots and how many points were applied — so we can see where people give up, not who gave up.

Google also collects some information automatically with these events, including device model, operating system version, app version and country.

ويُصاغ نص الإشعار على خوادمنا ثم يُمرَّر إلى Google لتسليمه، لأن الهاتف لا يستطيع صياغته والتطبيق مغلق. أي أن محتوى الإشعار — اسم النادي وموعد حجزك مثلًا — يمر عبر نظام التسليم لدى Google. ونقتصر فيه على أقل ما يجعل الرسالة مفهومة.

Firebase Analytics — كيفية استخدام التطبيق. نقيس رحلة الحجز: فتح التطبيق، والبحث، وعرض النادي، واختيار الموعد، وبدء الدفع، ومحاولة الدفع ونتيجتها، وتأكيد الحجز، وإلغاءه. ونسجّل النادي والملعب والسعر وعدد المواعيد والنقاط المستخدَمة — لنرى أين يتوقف الناس لا من توقف.

كما تجمع Google تلقائيًا بعض المعلومات مع هذه الأحداث، منها طراز الجهاز وإصدار نظام التشغيل وإصدار التطبيق والدولة.

Sentry (crash reporting) and PostHog (product analytics) — [TBD: not yet active]. Neither is integrated into the app today and neither receives any data. This policy will be updated before either one is switched on, not after.

Deuce does not currently send push notifications; notifications appear inside the app only.

If you block someone, we record that you blocked them. Blocking works both ways in effect: neither of you will see the other’s profile, messages, games or reviews. The person you blocked is not told.

If you report someone or a message, we record who reported it, who or what was reported, the reason you chose, anything you typed, and a copy of the reported content at the moment you reported it. We keep that copy because the original can be deleted before a moderator sees it, and a report you can no longer read is not a report.

We aim to review reports within 24 hours.

Your data is stored on Supabase’s infrastructure, which is located outside Egypt — [TBD: state the exact hosting region — read it from the dashboard, do not guess].

This means your personal data is transferred outside Egypt. Under the PDPL, cross-border transfer of personal data is subject to conditions and may require authorisation from the competent authority. You can delete your account from Account → Delete account in the app.

What is deleted

Your login record and your profile, and with them: your messages, your chat memberships, your reviews, your points ledger, your favourites, your notifications, the games you host, and your participation in other people’s games. This is immediate and cannot be undone.

What is anonymised rather than deleted

Your bookings are kept, with your name and account detached from them.

This is deliberate, and we would rather explain it than bury it. A booking is also the venue’s record of a court that was reserved, a deposit that was paid and a balance that was settled. Deleting it would erase the venue’s side of a completed transaction. So the booking survives with the link to you severed: the venue keeps its record, and the record no longer identifies you.

What can survive in a moderation report

As described in §6, if another user reported one of your messages, the copy of that message held in the report is not deleted with your account. The report stops pointing at your account, but the content remains until the report is dealt with.

If you run a venue

Accounts that own a venue cannot be deleted in the app. Deleting one would take the venue, its courts, and other people’s bookings with it. Write to support@deucewrld.com and we will transfer ownership first.

ما قد يبقى في بلاغ

كما ورد في البند ٦، إذا أبلغ مستخدم آخر عن إحدى رسائلك، فإن نسخة تلك الرسالة داخل البلاغ لا تُحذف مع حسابك. يتوقف البلاغ عن الإشارة إلى حسابك، لكن المحتوى يبقى حتى يُبتّ فيه.

إذا كنت تدير ناديًا

لا يمكن حذف الحسابات التي تملك ناديًا من داخل التطبيق، لأن حذفها يأخذ معه النادي وملاعبه وحجوزات أشخاص آخرين. راسل support@deucewrld.com لنقل الملكية أولًا.

Under the PDPL you have the right to:

• know what personal data we hold about you and why;
• access a copy of it;
• correct it if it is wrong or incomplete;
• erase it — most of this you can do yourself, immediately, with Delete account (§8);
• withdraw consent to anything optional — you can clear your photo, skill level and area at any time, and revoke location access in your device settings;
• object to particular processing;
• complain to the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Centre.

We do not make automated decisions about you that have legal effects.

• All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit.
• Access to your data is enforced by the database itself, row by row, not only by the app. Your profile row is readable only by you; other users reach a restricted view that exposes only the four fields in §3.
• Card details are handled entirely by our payment provider and never reach us.

No service can promise perfect security, and we do not.
